WhatsApp is currently testing new features for users, but the company is also preparing to drop all support and updates for Android devices with version 5.0 or lower.

The latest reports indicate that WhatsApp will soon not be available on devices running Android 4.4 KitKat (released in 2013) or earlier. Therefore, WhatsApp will soon require you to use a smartphone running Android 5.0 (released in 2014) or later.

This change means that WhatsApp will no longer provide software support for these devices including updates, bug fixes, and security improvements. The latest change reflects the chat apps policy to bring new features from the latest Android version.

Features of WhatsApp update 2.23.9.5

WhatsApp has released the new update 2.23.9.5 within the beta testing period and provides fixes for the splash screen bug that appeared in the latest version 2.23.9.2.

According to Wabetainfo, WhatsApp beta previously brought a bug that distorted the splash screen and looked larger than usual. However, with the latest addition, WhatsApp has reportedly fixed this bug in this update.

It should be noted that these changes were only spotted in the beta version of WhatsApp. It may take some time for WhatsApp to release it to all users.
