Run iOS Apps on Android Phones - Here's How! |
We used to talk about Android emulators, what is not common anymore is to hear about iOS emulators. In fact, until most recently, it wasn't easy to find a way to emulate Apple's iOS apps outside of iOS. Now, according to 9to5Mac, it will be possible to run some iOS apps on Android.
The difficulties in emulating iOS lie beyond the fact that it is a proprietary system of Apple. They have more to do with the fact that the operating system is designed to run on very specific hardware, which makes the job very difficult.
However, a developer named Hikari no Yume created a tool called touchHLE, with which it was possible to emulate old iOS apps on Mac and Windows devices. This was possible thanks to fewer security measures and the need to run on much simpler hardware.
Now, another developer, known as "cicipluslus", has managed to port the emulator to Android in the same spirit as the PC version. Considering that touchHLE was created with the mission of running old iOS games like Super Monkey Ball or Crash Bandicoot: Nitro Kart 3D, now it will be possible to do the same on Android phones.

touchHLE on Android!

A video posted by ciciplusplus on Twitter seems to indicate that the emulator works fine, but there is one major problem: it can only run on processors that follow the AArch64 architecture, and the emulator has not been tested with any other application other than Super Monkey Ball.
It doesn't seem like many Android users will emulate all iOS apps, but it's interesting to see how they manage to create iOS emulators that work on Android phones. If you'd like to try it out for yourself, here's the download link on GitHub.
