After launching a test last April, TikTok has just confirmed that it has started the global implementation of a "Dislike" button to flag comments we are not interested in or simply disagree with.
The "Dislike" button on TikTok works the same way it does on other social networks. Simply touch the 'Dislike' icon to show that you don't like the comment.
They point from TikTok that adding this new button to the moderation tools already available in their service came to make the platform a safer and healthier place for users.

In this way, thanks to this function, TikTok seeks to detect "inappropriate" comments. of hate posts or potential spam, which may not be detected by TikTok.
In the same way that it happens in services such as YouTube, TikTok will not show the number of "Dislikes" that any comment has collected, in order to avoid abuse.
However, TikTok did not indicate if there will be any kind of warning or punishment for those users who use the new button inappropriately.
